  1. I would use the 4 Cable Method (4CM) as described in the HX FX manual, in the ’Hooking It All Up’ section. This allows you to use some of your HX FX models before the CX in the signal path (e.g. OD, Comp), and some after the CX (e.g. MOD, Reverb, Delay). On the CX, set the Return switch to the Power Amp setting. You can use the HX FX models in conjunction with the CX FX models as well if you wish. Give it a read and experiment. It can be confusing at first so don’t hesitate to come back with questions.
  2. What version is the driver you’re using? Did your download the Windows 8 compatible version?
  3. Sorry. I may be naive about it but not being facetious. I just don’t see the problem. A curiosity, yes. Just not something I would be inclined to spend time on. I’d just twist a VOL knob and be done with it.
  4. Since your IR loader replaces a mic/cab model in the XT I would treat it like you are connecting to just the cab section of an external guitar amp. Try selecting an Output setting to match that setup.
  5. I’m wondering whether the difference in volume levels is actually a problem. First, I assume the difference is noted when both devices have the overall device volume at max, or ‘unity’. I also assume that even if that’s true, you could lower the device master volume on the louder one to equalize them. What am I missing? Do we expect every device from every manufacturer to be equally ‘loud’? Is there some industry standard I’m not aware of?
  6. Just to clarify - if you used the discount to purchase Helix Native you can't sell your LT and retain your HN incense before a specific time period (90 days? 180 days? - look it up in the Helix Native FAQs.) This is for an obvious reason - people buying a Helix product, using it only to buy the discounted Helix Native product, then immediately returning the Helix device for full refund.
  7. You are correct. Your license is yours, not attached to the device. The device allowed a discounted price which is now not available to the new owner.
  8. Seems the Line 6 Updater program is only compatible with Mac or Windows computers - not an iPad. Do you have access to a Mac or PC to use temporarily to update your firmware? Then you will be able to use the iPad app for preset management.
  9. Can you confirm that you have tried recording both a dry and wet track simultaneously using your HX Stomp as the audio interface? This was suggested earlier by @schmalle but I haven’t seen a direct response to this. Then import the preset you recorded the wet track with into Helix Native and apply it to the dry track. Compare result, adjusting levels if required.
  10. Have you downloaded the Line 6 Updater file? It is not the firmware. It is an executable file; run it and continue to follow the Firmware Update Instructions. After updating the firmware you can use the edit app to load preset files downloaded from Customtone.
  11. To upgrade… Customtone is just a website. You download files using a browser such as Safari. The downloaded files go wherever they normally go, usually the Downloads area of your iPad. Then you use the app to load the downloaded preset files to your Catalyst amp.
  12. Also check the Global Settings levels (Line/Instrument) in your HX Stomp Input and Output. In particular make sure the Output setting matches the expected input level of your speakers.
  13. You could try a reset or reinstall the firmware... .... but after that length of time I suspect it's a hardware issue. Open a support ticket to see what your options are.
  14. Have you explored the Customtone site (see top of this page)? Filtering for the Catalyst amp series I see 121 presets/tones available for download. Perhaps some of them will provide at least a starting point for further tweaking.
  15. It is possible to use the Helix device to re-amp a signal from your DAW. That procedure is described in the manual using the Helix device as your audio interface. It can be adapted to use your Focusrite if you want but it’s really a standalone procedure that you might as well use Helix as the temporary interface for. However, it seems to me that you can’t use it with another plugin in the middle of the chain as you wish. The reamp procedure takes a track from your DAW and routes it through Helix processing with the output being recorded to a new track in your DAW. Seems to me you would need to record a dry guitar track, apply your Neural DSP plugin for any pre-processing to that track, reamp this signal through Helix to create a new track, and then apply Neural DSP again to that track for final processing. And if you want to change the Neural processing in the original track you will need to reamp it again. I’m not aware of any way to integrate the Helix reamp procedure into an existing track in the same way that plugins operate.
