  1. I am getting a similar problem with my spider valve when I play a B maj chord. I hit the chord, then mute the guitar and a resonance note at 192Hz just sings out and wont go away until I turn the standby off. Very annoying as I start in a new band next week. I can send a sound file if need be.
  2. Hi Just press the presets knob, then scroll right until you get to the gate function, scroll up or down gives you gate and/or noise reduction options, then turn the turn the presets knob until the graphic flips over to the right. As with the FX, the gate setting is specific to the patch you are in. Cheers
  3. Yep, charge is per radio per day and it gets really expensive (another good reason to live in the USA!) and you have to notify in advance where you are playing and they tell you what frequencies you can use. We used to have loads of free frequencies in Ch.76 but all the internet companies wanted that for wifi - thanks Microsoft. check out https://www.jfmg.co.uk/pages/licence/licence.htm and just be glad you live in the US. Actually I was wrong before: it's a £5000.00 fine - yes that really is $7,606.50 - and possibly a 6 month prison sentence though you would have to be a pretty regular offender to get that. A lot of US bands touring the UK don't bother to license and just take a chance, and you do have the option to retrospectively get a licence up to a few days after the event.
  4. All I would like to see would be a USB port on the back to save and load presets without having to hook up a computer. A built in wireless system would not be good in the UK and most of Europe. RF spectrum is really crowded now and radio is getting less and less usable. You have two options; pay £8.00 per day for a license, (per radio system, so radio guitar and radio mic = £16 per day etc...) or use a frequency in Ch.39 which are free and then have all the taxis in the area blasting through your amp during your set. Actually there are three options, you can pick a frequency outside of Ch. 39 and run the risk of a £3000.00 fine, or a very unpleasant interview with the police if the frequency you choose is one reserved for the military. Glastonbury festival is on at the moment and it is interesting to see the amount of artists that are going back to wired instruments and mics - even for lead vocals.
  5. I am getting an odd sound when I use moderate to high gain amp models with my spider valve mk2 112. Chords seem ok, but there is a strange "yodelling" on single notes which most noticeable around 10th fret upwards. Slow solos don't sound good. I mainly use the plexi model for heavier songs and all lead work, but the odd sound is present on all high gain models. It occurs with the Divided by 13 model, but is nowhere near as pronounced, so I am thinking that it's a preamp valve issue. This happens with all my guitars, Fender Strat with Seymour Duncan STK 4's, regular Fender Strat, Gibson SG and Strat clone with Jeff Beck full size humbucker. Any ideas?
