  1. Hi all. Just got the new Boss IR-2 to add to my HX Effects board. For background, I know how to use command center and have successfuly used it to trigger MIDI changes and amp channel changes in the past. However, I have figured out through trial and error that that only signal the IR2 accepts from the HXFX to make it switch between the red and green (A/B) channels is a "momentary" pulse (as opposed to latching). So my question is this: Is it possible to program an instant 'momentary' command out of the HXFX via the ext footswitch ports when using snapshots? So when i switch from Snap1 to Snap2 (for example), it immediately triggers a mode change (red to green or green to red) on the IR2. Thanks in advance!
  2. Hi all. I know they are barely out, but wondering if anyone has tried using the amp/pedal switches (and snapshots/command center) on the HX Effects to toggle channels on the new Boss IR-2? In theory it looks like it should work, but I haven't been able to get my hands on a Boss unit yet. If it's like the switching on other Boss pedals with an external switch input, I assume it would be fine? Thoughts welcome!
  3. i can definitely assign audio to the desired output source. I just don't like my view being clogged with the Helix channels :-) This is totally an aesthetics thing. LOL
  4. Hi there. Thanks for the reply. I've got a pretty decent handle on the settings and configurations. Really what I was hoping existed was a "disable audio out over USB" in global settings so the usb audio channels were simply not visible in multitracker. But then i could turn the feature back on when working in the DAW.
  5. thanks. Thats the one workaround i can see. But that requires me to go back in and resave all my presets. I was hoping there was a global "disable audio out over usb" type of setting. That way i could turn off for live performance and then turn off if i'm working on the DAW and want to re-amp or something.
  6. Hi all. Connecting to the Multitracker app on iPad with Helix Floor over USB to allow for MID command sends to Helix. Here's my question... In the audio output section of the app, it's showing me the 8 audio channels that are being seen via USB as options for output (effectively creating a loop). I don't need audio being sent over USB from the Helix to the app/iPad. I can select my preferred audio outputs (headphones) and simply ignore the Helix audio channels. But I'm wondering if, for the sake of aesthetics and clutter, there's a way to simply disable audio being sent over USB so I don't see the Helix audio channels being sent? Thanks!
  7. Just upgraded to a Helix floor. Trying to recreate something i was able to do with the POD HD500X...that is create a patch using both the magnetic pickups and the models in the guitar. Ideally I'd have one signal path running the MAGS through an amp and a couple of effects. On the other path is an acoustic model running through a chorus and reverb. Then I want to be able to use the expression pedal to blend the mag path in and out of the acoustic path. So with the expression pedal all the way up or down, it would be the acoustic model, then as i move the pedal, the mag channel mixes in so i can control the amount of mag sound that gets mixed in. Thoughts?? And Thanks!
  8. Glad to hear all are safe at L6HQ! I have ordered the part through Full Compass. Thanks for all the advice and tips!
  9. THANK YOU!!! This was driving me nuts and the dummy plug was the magic solution! Now the Variax mags go to the 4-cable loop so that works as normal and if i want to layer in an acoustic or something, that goes straight to the PA/monitors!
  10. The cap/top of the model selector knob on my JTV-59 has popped off. Not the whole knob/dial, just the very top which is like a cap. It functions fine. I have lost this cap. Anyone know of a source for replacement knobs for this guitar? Thanks!
  11. I think mine is an original production model. I bought it a few years back but have really only ever used it with the POD.
  12. I thought that too. I was going to swap the jack assembly between the functioning 59 and the 69 to confirm but there's some finicky wiring in the 59 I don't want to disturb. So...the pull the knob out a bit trick has worked!! It was a clearance/contact issue. I am working on the paper fix but i can confirm that it is now working by pulling the knob away from the body. Thanks so much for the tips. You guys rock!!!
  13. Great tip! I will give this a try. However, I should note that once the models are functioning and I disconnect the VDI, I CAN toggle between mags and models which suggests the knob is far enough out to allow for toggling. But let me try what you are suggesting and report back! Cheers.
