Is the regular Line6 expression pedal no good then?

Thanks Martin. So basically you can blend 2 different amp sounds to create a new one that you hear through a single amp right?

I have yet to purchase JTV or HD500 yet, but have been spending a lot of time checking out reviews/problems people have on them. Right now with my Spider Valve and FBV shortboard I can connect to my PC and edit everthing and play it through my amp while still connected. Are you saying that you can't do that with the JTV and HD500?

So on all of the videos I've seen Line 6 put out demoing the HD500 or Dream Rig, the guy is always using a second expression pedal plugged into the POD. My question is what is the one they're using (can't remember name, think it starts with M) and why aren't they using the Line 6 Expression pedal that the company offers from it's website?

Thanks guys. I've checked the L series PA systems as well. To me it would be a nice addition. Everything I've seen about them is the same for elelctric sounds as what people say about the DT series with acoustic sounds. Almost seems like you would need 2 systems, 1 for electric and 1 for acoustic, to capture both of the sounds more accurately.

So for the past few weeks I've been drooling over the capabilities of the dream rig, it's my ultimate goal. I've have to purchase the items one at a time. First I'm going to get the JTV, then HD500x. Couple questions that you guys can hopefully help me out with: Right now I have a 2x12 spider valve combo. Does the HD500 interact with that in any way like the DT series or will I just have to stick with the 4 cable method? In regards to the duo amp mode with the pedal, can you only do this feature with 2 amps? I'm guessing that even with one amp I would be able to blend the sounds of 2 amps together, the pan left or right would only be practical in a recording situation or 2 amp rig correct? And one last thing about the variax/hd500x combo: If you create patches with guitar model/tunings on the pedal, does it override the 5-way switch on the guitar? I tried to read through some of the downloadable manuals but I figured you guys with first hand experience would be able to help better. Thanks for any help!

So i've been seeing the variax a lot lately on youtube. Seen a lot of great things. So heres what I got; a schecter tuned to E standard and a bc rich tuned to Eb. Both have floyd rose systems. I'm pretty happy with them, but I like to play along to songs a lot and of course many bands tune differently. It seems like the Variax with solve all my problems, just have 1 guitar that can do all of them! Quick question before I go and try to hunt one down to try out though. Im looking at the new 89f because I love floyd systems. If im using the piezo system will I still here the trem springs ringing out in the amp?
